LinkedIn Tips for businesses

LinkedIn is the social media tool for business. It’s where professionals interact (mostly) about work-related subjects, it’s where people look for new jobs, and it’s where people research potential clients.

It’s therefore crucial that, as a business, your LinkedIn page is up to scratch – it can help you grow your brand awareness, develop relationships with potential clients and customers, and even generate new-business leads!

Sadly, there are countless ways to improve your LinkedIn page. However, in this post we’ll give you a few tips and tricks to get you on your way.

Post consistently

This is an obvious one – people can’t get to know your business if it rarely posts content. In the world of social media you often have to put yourself out there to find the audience, rather than waiting for them to come to you.

In order to build an engaged audience, it’s important to share content on a regular basis.

As people start to see regular, consistent, and helpful content, they’ll start Liking and Following – and that’s how your audience grows and becomes engaged.

However, share at a rate that’s realistic for you – if once a day is simply unrealistic, it’s better to share 3 posts a week every week than every day for a while and then nothing.

As you start to see results and integrate posting into your routine, you can then start building it up!

Utilise your existing network

Everyone’s got to start somewhere – and often that’s with the people around us.

It may seem pointless, but asking people within your business or network to interact with posts will help them to be seen on more, new, feeds and help to expand your audience.

Very soon, the interactions won’t just be from your business anymore and your page will start to grow.

Plus, the LinkedIn algorithm will actively push content that gains interaction within the first 60 minutes of posting – so share it with your colleagues straight away!

Respond to all comments

The best way to encourage engagement is to reciprocate it!

Make sure you are responding to all the comments you receive on your posts to encourage people to continue to interact with you.

Why not start a discussion with your posts, and ask your followers to comment with their thoughts? Then you can reply to them, and generate healthy post engagement.

Be patient

Like many areas of marketing, nothing happens overnight.

In fact, it may be months before your following and likes start to increase noticeably.

However, make sure you post as if you have 10,000 followers, even when you only have 100.

Create consistent, helpful, interesting, and attention-grabbing content, and the growth will come!

But make sure you to stick at it – don’t be disheartened if you don’t see results straight away.
